AbstractThe accuracy of students’ relative comprehension judgments when reading texts is typically rather low. This has been ascribed to students grounding their comprehension judgments on cues that are not diagnostic of their actual comprehension level. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää kasvatus- ja aikuiskasvatustieteen pääaineopiskelijoiden käsityksiä Jyväskylän yliopistolla käytetyistä opetus- ja opiskelumenetelmistä. Tutkimuksessa keskityttiin erityisesti kuvailemaan itsenäisten sekä vuorovaikutteisten opetus- ja opiskelumenetelmien ilmenemistä opiskelijoiden arjessa. Tutkimuksen avulla kartoitettiin opiskelijoiden määritelmiä ja kokemuksia itsenäisistä ja vuorovaikutteisista opetus- ja opiskelumenetelmistä sekä opiskelijoiden käsityksiä käytettyjen menetelmien mahdollisesta kehittämisestä. Luennolla lusimassa? : luennolla istuminen, itsenäinen opiskelu ja tenttiosaaminen

Artikkelissa tarkastellaan sitä, ketkä menestyvät taloustieteen kurssin tentissä. Tilastoaineiston avulla voimme kontrolloida useita taustamuuttujia ja tutkia, onko luentoläsnäololla tai itsenäisellä opiskelulla vaikutusta tenttiosaamiseen. Tutkimusasetelman tekee poikkeukselliseksi se, että kurssin jokainen luento muodostaa oman itsenäisen kokonaisuuden. Tämän lisäksi opiskelijoiden läsnäoloa, itsenäisesti suoritettavia tehtäviä ja tenttipisteitä mitataan luentokohtaisesti. Opiskelijat itse arvioivat kurssin opetuksen kauttaaltaan varsin korkeatasoiseksi.
